There is music, there is food and hey what’s a party without beer and alcohol. Everybody is cheering Ted as he chugs down three beers at once. He is taking the fourth one when he faints and falls down flat on the floor. You are his best friend, but you can’t help him. You are confused what to do. This was a celebration but now the hero is leaving on a gurney.</p> <p>We all take alcohol for recreational purposes but sometimes its overdose can kill you and your loved ones. But you can always treat the cause by drinking responsibly. It can happen due to binge drinking when you take up to four or five drinks in less than two hours.</p> <p>2. Your intake of alcohol can depend on your weight, size, and general health.</p> <p>3. It also depends on what type of food you have taken recently.</p> <p>4. Your usage of drugs</p> <p>5. It depends on the percentage of alcohol in your drink plus how much in your intake.</p> <p>6. Don’t drink excessively if you have done some extensive physical exercise. Your body is heated and is dehydrated which can lead to low level of tolerance.</p> <h2>How much alcohol is safe to consume?</h2> <img src="https://cdnone.netlify.com/db/2017/12/word-image-1143.jpeg"/>shutterstock <p>1. 5% of alcohol is found in 355 ml of regular beer drink.</p> <p>2. 7% of alcohol is found in 266 ml of malt liquor.</p> <p>3. 12% of alcohol is found in 148 ml of wine.</p> <p>4. 40% of alcohol is found in rum, tequila shots, vodka and whiskey.</p> <p>Be sure to keep a check on the intake of your friend and yourself. So if you think someone has over consumed alcohol, please cut them off and stop them from taking more. Immediately call for help to some medical care. If you don’t get help in time it might lead to</p> <p>1. Choking on vomit</p> <p>2. Slow breathing that might lead to stopped breathing</p> <p>3. Heart attacks or stopped heart</p> <p>4. Low body temperature</p> <p>5. Low blood sugar that leads to seizures</p> <p>6. Vomiting results in severe dehydration and can lead to permanent brain damage</p> <p>7. Acute pancreatitis due to poisoning</p> <p>8. Keep your self-calm and attentive to everything around you.</p> <p>1. If you have consumed Alcohol, please don’t drive yourself. Call an ambulance or hail a taxi to take you to the nearest hospital.</p> <p>2. Help the medical personnel and the doctor. Tell them all the information that might help them which includes the amount of alcohol you have taken and when was it consumed.</p> <p>3. If your underage and have been drinking with the affected person, keep your concerns aside for getting caught and call for help. If you don’t report the problem, you are having just because you are afraid of police and your parents this might cause a bigger problem which can also be death.</p> <h2>Monitor the affected person</h2> <img src="https://cdnone.netlify.com/db/2017/12/word-image-1148.jpeg"/>shutterstock <p>Always stay calm in such emergencies and never lose your patience. Your actions can help save the life. Monitor the person for more signs and symptoms that you can stave off. Stay with them until help arrives. Help them and ensure they don’t chock on their own vomit.</p> <p>1. Don’t force them to vomit, they could get chocked on it.</p> <p>2. Always position them in a recovery position which is to roll them on their side. Help them with it. Keep them straight.</p> <p>1. If they need to lie down, ensure that they are in a recovery position by their side.</p> <p>2. Try to talk to them and keep them conscious to minimize them from fainting.</p> <p>3. Stay away from these things</p> <p>1. Shower in freezing water</p> <p>2. Walking or running</p> <p>3. Drinking coffee</p> <p>4. Consumption of alcohol on daily bases can create a dependence or tolerance to the body but if you keep a check you can stay away from it.</p> <p>1. Dependence is when your body cannot function without the specific intake of alcohol.</p> <p>2. Tolerance is when your body adapts specific amount to intake</p> <h3>Stay within limits</h3> <img src="https://cdnone.netlify.com/db/2017/12/word-image-1155.jpeg"/>Shutterstock <p>1. 3-4 units of alcohol are enough for men who take it daily whereas 2-3 units are enough for women.</p> <p>2. A bottle of wine has 9-10 units of alcohol, you can read the units at the back of the bottle or the beverage you are taking.</p> <p>3. If you know your lift never try to exceed it. But if it’s a special occasion don’t go beyond one or two glasses from your normal intake.</p> <p>4. Always drink water with alcohol. This helps in hydrating your body and minimize the effect of poisoning.</p> <p>5. Try to stop drinking as early as possible in the night.</p> <p>6. Try to make a schedule of taking alcohol</p> <p>7. Don’t drink alcohol on two days in a week. This will decrease your dependence and recover your body from previous damage that alcohol has done.</p> <p>8.
